The World Has Spoken: End the Criminal Blockade Against Socialist Cuba
The Communist Party Marxist Kenya stands in unbreakable solidarity with the heroic Cuban people and their socialist revolution. We also extend our warm revolutionary congratulations to the one hundred and sixty-five nations that voted at the United Nations General Assembly to demand an end to the United States blockade on Cuba, a blockade that has strangled the island for more than six decades.
Once again, the United States and its puppet satellites stood isolated before the conscience of humanity. This overwhelming vote is a testament to the irreversible strategic decline of United States hegemony and the crumbling of its imperial empire in the new dawn of a multipolar world.
The Blockade: An Act of Imperialist Genocide
Since the triumph of the Cuban Revolution in 1959, the foreign policy of the United States has been to undermine and overthrow the socialist project in Havana. Its strategy has been to suffocate the Cuban economy, provoke social unrest, and erode the revolutionary government from within.
The blockade is not an abstraction. It is a weapon of war. It is economic terrorism. It has created shortages of food, medicine, and energy; it has blocked trade, credit, and the transfer of technology. It is a deliberate violation of international law and an act of genocide against an entire people.
The latest Cuban report BLOQUEO 2026 reveals that between March 2024 and February 2025, the blockade caused material damages exceeding seven thousand five hundred and fifty-six million dollars, representing a forty-nine per cent increase from the previous year. The cumulative losses have reached one hundred and seventy point seven billion dollars. Adjusted to gold value, this equals more than two point one trillion dollars; a theft of life, labour, and dignity from the Cuban people. This aggression is not accidental. It is the organised cruelty of monopoly capital. It is the deliberate punishment of a nation that dared to break its chains and declare itself socialist.
Cuba Exposes Imperialist Lies
At the United Nations General Assembly, the United States Ambassador, Mike Waltz, repeated the same lies that Washington has used for sixty years to justify its blockade. He claimed that the blockade “does not exist”, that “Cuba can trade freely”, and that “its economic hardship is self-inflicted”.
But the world knows the truth. The Helms Burton Act, the Torricelli Act, and the numerous sanctions of the Office of Foreign Assets Control remain in force. Over forty international banks have been intimidated into cutting ties with Cuba. Sixty-nine per cent of the essential medicines in Cuba’s National List have been affected, and more than three hundred drugs remain unavailable due to technological bans and payment restrictions.
Food imports have also been strangled. More than three hundred and thirty-seven thousand tonnes of corn and one hundred and twenty thousand tonnes of soybeans could not be imported, directly affecting Cuba’s food basket. Even “authorised” purchases from the United States require cash in advance, with no credit, transported only by United States ships on one-way voyages.
The Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs, Comrade Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, replied with revolutionary firmness and clarity: “This is the United Nations General Assembly. It is not a Signal chat, nor is it the House of Representatives.” This statement cut through the imperial arrogance of the United States like a blade of truth.
The People of Cuba: Bending but Never Broken
The people of Cuba, like the bamboo that bends but never breaks, have endured this siege with courage, creativity, and faith in socialism. They have defended their revolution with sweat and with blood. Despite sanctions that restrict access to the most basic medical components and technologies, the Cuban socialist healthcare system stands as a model for the world. Its doctors and nurses continue to offer international medical missions to sister nations across Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
Even under siege, Cuba continues to share what it has; knowledge, vaccines, and medical solidarity. Such conduct is the purest expression of proletarian internationalism.
The Financial Siege and the Lie of Terrorism
In the financial sector, the United States has coerced banks, insurance companies, and logistics firms into avoiding Cuba. This has isolated the island from international credit and capital flows, imposing on it a condition of economic apartheid.
The United States designation of Cuba as a so-called “State Sponsor of Terrorism” is a grotesque lie. History itself refutes it. The world knows that the United States, through NATO, is the chief financier of terrorism, war, and global instability. It is Washington, not Havana, that has destroyed nations, invaded sovereign territories, and armed mercenaries in the name of profit.
Cuba’s solidarity with national liberation struggles, from Algeria to Angola, from Namibia to South Africa, is not terrorism. It is revolutionary duty. The proxy wars in Palestine, in Ukraine, in Haiti, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and in Sudan are the real manifestations of terrorism orchestrated under United States tutelage. The warmongering in Taiwan, the Korean Peninsula, Venezuela, and Colombia are preparations for future aggressions.
The United Nations and the Crisis of Imperial Legitimacy
The United Nations General Assembly has voted more than thirty-three times to end the blockade against Cuba. Each time, the United States has ignored the world. The United Nations system, like the League of Nations before it, has become a barking dog without teeth; an institution designed to serve the interests of monopoly finance capital rather than the peoples of the world.
The United States, as the largest funder of this institution, arrogantly dishonours every resolution that contradicts its imperial designs. Yet the moral tide is turning. Every vote of condemnation further exposes the illegitimacy of United States hegemony and the bankruptcy of its claims to leadership.
Africa Remembers Cuba
The people of Kenya and of Africa will never forget the solidarity that Cuba extended during our own struggles for independence and self-determination. From Windhoek in Namibia, to Luanda in Angola, and to the tropical forests of Guinea-Bissau, Cuban blood was shed for the liberation of Africa.
Cuba’s contribution to the defeat of apartheid and to the education, healthcare, and training of African cadres remains an indelible mark of socialist brotherhood. Africa stands today with Cuba, just as Cuba once stood with us.
Kenya’s Revolutionaries Stand with Cuba
The Communist Party Marxist Kenya reaffirms its total solidarity with the Communist Party of Cuba, with the revolutionary government of President Miguel Díaz-Canel, and with the Cuban people. We denounce the blockade, the extraterritorial sanctions, and the so-called list of terrorism sponsors. We reject the financial persecution that prevents Cuba from trading freely or receiving credit. We demand the immediate removal of Cuba from all imperialist blacklists.
We stand shoulder to shoulder with the Cuban Revolution under the banner of proletarian internationalism, echoing the immortal words of Fidel Castro: “The people of Cuba do not surrender. The people of Cuba resist. The people of Cuba win.”
Imperialism Is Dying; The Peoples Are Rising
The isolation of the United States at the General Assembly reveals what Lenin taught with prophetic precision: “Imperialism is the highest and final stage of capitalism.” Its cruelty is not strength; it is decay. Its arrogance is not confidence; it is fear. From Havana to Gaza, from Nairobi to Caracas, from Kinshasa to Port-au-Prince, the oppressed peoples are uniting in a new international front of resistance against imperialism and its comprador allies.
Let the imperialists know that they may strangle Cuba, but they cannot break her. They may blockade her, but they cannot extinguish her light. That light burns in the hearts of all who fight for socialism, for peace, and for the liberation of humankind.
Long Live Socialist Cuba!
Down with United States Imperialism!
Long Live Proletarian Internationalism!
Forward to A World Without Blockades Or Chains!
